Direct Messaging®

The Florida HIE Direct Messaging service provides health care organizations and providers with a way to securely send health information over the internet.

The Florida Health Information Exchange (Florida HIE) is currently going through a vendor transition from PointClickCare (PCC) to CRISP Shared Services (CSS). Please visit the new website at FLHIE.org. The Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA) is continually sending notifications about weekly virtual meetings called “office hours” and ongoing webinars to explain the transition process. If you have questions, please email FLHII@ahca.myflorida.com. For any questions about enrollment into the new Florida HIE services, please reach out to info@flhie.org.

Direct Messaging Service

Direct messaging is secure, HIPAA-compliant, email that can be integrated with an electronic health record (EHR) system or used as a separate stand-alone service. Many EHR’s have a direct, secure email built into their system. The Florida HIE’s Direct Messaging Service is operated by Inpriva, and is a good option for organizations seeking web-based Direct messaging solutions. As members of the DirectTrust Accredited community, Inpriva is committed to the highest level of security, privacy, and interoperability.

DirectTrust is an American National Standards Institute (ANSI) Accredited Standards development organization made up of data exchange stakeholders which began to formalize the Direct Standard as an ANSI approved national standard. These standards enhance health care interoperability and identity or have applicability to a Trust Framework.
